Seismotech will present a report at the 4th International Conference «ProGRRes’25. Resource Base as a Foundation», which will take place on November 24–25, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Moscow Petrovsky Park located at: 36/33 Leningradsky Prospekt, Moscow.

Within the IV International Conference «ProGRRes’25. Resource Base as a Foundation» we are pleased to invite you to attend the following report:

Q-tomography and Q-migration

The speaker: Anisimov Ruslan, Leading Software Developer, Seismotech Ltd.

The authors: R.G. Anisimov*, D.B. Finikov, A.V. Shalashnikov

Currently, in the field of analysis and correction of frequency-dependent absorption effects, Q-tomography and Q-migration technologies are among the most advanced. There are many methods for their implementation, but it is difficult to state with certainty that this problem has been fully solved.

The widely used practical methods of Q-tomography and Q-migration have several significant algorithmic drawbacks, that’s why this topic requires further study. This report is devoted to a review of the authors’ Q-tomography and Q-migration algorithm, designed to overcome the disadvantages of existing practical approaches.

The paper demonstrates proprietary Q-tomography and Q-migration algorithms that are resistant to noise. Due to the final correction performed in the proposed Q-migration method at the post-migration processing stage, this process is easy to control, unlike commonly used direct correction algorithms during migration.

This technology effectively compensates for frequency-dependent absorption effects and improves the dynamic expression and consistency of the resulting sections.
