Our report "About the tasks of seismic records deconvolution and the control of waveform distortions" at the conference "GeoEurasia-2018"

In the framework of the International geological and geophysical conference "GeoEurasia-2018" we’ll be glad to meet you at the following report:

Finikov Dmitry, the head of R&D Department, and Kunchenko Daniil, geophysicist, “About the tasks of seismic records deconvolution and the control of waveform distortions".

Current seismic practice tends to process data with the preservation of useful signals amplitude characteristics. Therefore, requirements for control of dynamic distortion recordings are significantly increased at every separate stage of processing. It gets a lot more complicated when you analyze the distortions caused by the usage of adaptive procedures such as reverse filtration and other procedures, that affect the shape of a signal.

This paper proposes a technique that allows you to control the dynamic distortion of records by analyzing the waveform evaluation, which you use for the inverse filter creation.

The usage of this approach in deconvolution distortion estimation is only one of the applications of the described method, which constitutes an independent interest in itself. Another application is connected with opportunities to improve the quality of the inverse filtering.
